Case Study: Quality Engineering at a Bank
In 2017 a Sydney based bank asked Testing Times to provide insight on how to improve testing within an agile context. Most consultants solve this problem through more test automation. However test automation is expensive and hard to maintain. Instead I suggested a Quality Engineering approach where quality is built in and made visible throughout delivery as opposed to only at the end.
Testing Times brought in some high quality SME’s serving as DevOps Coach, Development Coach, Quality Coach, Automation Coach to work team by team in the in order to remove inhibitors, roadblocks and waste across their entire systems and crucially put in skills and process to achieve the transformation they needed. By the end of the year, 50 departments will be skilled with a QE model adapted to their needs.
